Dr. Purabi Das has been Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy in Saheed Nurul Islam Mahavidyalaya since 2010, preceding which she was a Junior Lecturer at Barrackpore Rastraguru Surendranath College from 2001-2010. She has done her M.A. in Philosophy from Calcutta University, Kolkata,M.Phil on Environmental Ethics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata and her PhD. on The Otherness of the Third Sex from West Bengal State University, Barasat. Her areas of specialization are Western Logic, Applied Ethics and Feminist Philosophy.Besides her excellence in her academic field, she is noted to spend her time enjoying Bengali Classical Folk music and literature, contemporary Bengali cinema ,complex and explorative Bengali storytelling.

DR.SAJAL BASU

Sajal Basu (1941-) a Ph.D. from Calcutta University , is a Social Activist, Journalist and Author of 25 Books in English and Bengali.Formerly a Senior Research Fellow in Indian Institute of Advance Study.Shimla, Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi. He has led many research projects of I.C.S.S.R,Centre for the study of Developing Societies, Delhi,Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi, Samaj Bikshan Kendra , kolkata. His publications include Politics of Violence, Underground Literatures during Indian Emergency (ed), Indian Emergency 50, Bangali Jibane Daladoli ,Anchalik Andalon, In Quest of Freedom- Sibnath Banerjee and Times, Regional Movements, Jharkhand Movement, Ram Mohun Roy-Prophet of Modern India (ed), Bharater Samajik Andolan (ed), Political Concepts of Swami Vivekananda, Regionalism, Ethnicity and Left Politics. His forthcoming Biofiction , 'Sacred sex of our Mahatmas' will come out soon.Presently, he has been associated with Indian News Service and Juger Dak.
