Two popular professors from Calcutta University, historians Jahar Sen and Nirban Basu, have reviewed the life stories and works of ten undisputed historians of independent India. Both researchers are revered and well-known among students, yet they have not received much publicity.
Jahar Sen has analyzed the lives and works of Sir Jadunath Sarkar, Ramesh Chandra Majumdar, Amalesh Tripathi, Nirmal Chandra Singh, and Verrier Elwin. Nirban Basu has written about the historical thoughts of Haridas Mukhopadhyay, Haraprasad Chattopadhyay, Sabyasachi Bhattacharya, Binaybhushan Chaudhuri, and Nishith Ranjan Ray.
